It's good to know Irish people are not the only people that think Irish people are great.
For any Irish supporter that travelled to Paris and had the time of your life at Euro 2016, you have done us proud and have been recognised for your easy-going efforts.
The Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, has announced that Ireland fans are to be awarded the Medal of the City of Paris for the sense of sportsmanship and camaraderie they brought to the city.

As we happily reported at the time, Ireland's supporters got right to it in the City of Lights. They partied at Place de Clichy,
serenaded strangers on balconies, fixed flat tyres, crowd-surfed, saluted bin trucks, endeared themselves to the local
gendarmes, and, most importantly, cleaned up after themselves.
Mayor Hidalgo gushed about how Irish fans had been '
exemplary in their sportsmanship' during their time in the city and how they had created a truly special atmosphere.
The honour was officially, and personally, conveyed to President of Ireland Michael D Higgins who was over and back to France for all of Ireland's games.

Past recipients of the medal include French Open kingpin Rafael Nadal, actress and human rights activist Jane Fonda and Charles Lindbergh, who was the first person to fly non-stop from the United States to Paris.
So there you have it. If you were in Paris for Euro 2016 and had the craic, stick the 'Great Vermeil Medal of the City of Paris' accolade on your CV.
