Luis Suarez has redeemed himself somewhat with this incredibly sound gesture
Despite having a career marred with controversy, Suarez is still a supremely gifted athlete and as this story shows, not the soulless, blood-sucking demon some of the media outlets make him out to be.
Uruguay's talismanic forward recently made a large donation of gifts to sick children in his homeland just in time for Chritsmas. The Barcelona striker sent 500 Christmas baskets to the Pereira Rossell children's hospital in Montevido.
The baskets contained Christmas food and drinks and were donated on behalf of Uruguayan childrens cancer charity 'Scremini Pérez' who Suarez represents as an official ambassador. It's always great to see international superstars giving back to the less fortunate among us, especially around this time of year.
