Shaw has spent most of the last 10 months in recovery, putting in the hard hours in physical therapy to try to get back to full fitness and return to the United team.
He came one step closer to returning to normality by starting for the Red Devils in what was also Jose Mourinho's first game in charge.
Goals from Will Keane and Andreas Pereira secured a 2-0 win against, in what was a particularly emotional match for Shaw. He admitted to being blown away by the loyal travelling support in the DW stadium who gave him a one hell of a reception on his return.
