Depay has been touted as a future Manchester United player since his impressive World Cup but, even though Mr Thomas was clearly in touch with the club, you have to wonder what he's up to making it public.
It doesn't take a detective to work out that there are obviously a number of teams vying for his signature and the rate is going up each time their representatives are seen with a rival bidder.
