But when you throw in a derby defeat to Sunderland, and a contentious one at that, it makes for fantastic viewing unless you're a Magpies fan (or perhaps even if you are).
It's everything we love about fan TV - the humility (pausing mid-rant to give credit to Costel Pantilimon), the exaggerated praise for his own team (a 'Bergkamp-esque' flick ahead of Newcastle's penalty appeal) and the furious anger (at the penalty call at the other end).
