Paul McShane issues classy apology for clash with Reading teammate

Paul McShane has apologised for his clash with Reading teammate Danny Williams.

The Reading pair squared up during the final minutes of the loss to Middlesbrough earlier this week. McShane admonished his teammate, Williams didn't back down and the pair squared up. Both were charged by the Football Association for violent conduct.

Ahead of Reading's game against Leeds United on Saturday, McShane apologised to everyone involved with the club for his part in the altercation, saying there's no issue between him and Williams, he regrets the incident and remains proud to captain the side. McShane posted the apology to his Instagram page.

"I personally want to say how regretful I am of the incident on Tuesday night. I want to apologise to everyone involved with Reading FC especially the fans. Our passion and emotions spilled over for 2 seconds and we should have controlled ourselves better. Myself and Danny put the matter to bed straight after the game, it's unfortunate that it's now been dragged on for this long. I'm proud to be captain of this club and I apologise for letting you's all down. I'd like to move on now and look forward to get back playing."
