Cup ties, they can't all be classics.
Bradford City and Reading FC played out a goalless draw in their FA Cup quarter final clash on Saturday in a match that was described by literally no one as a game for the ages. The only thing you could say about that fixture was that it seemed to go on for ages.
The standard of football was hindered massively by the shocking state of the pitch at the Valley Parade. This directly contributed to the lack of goals and goal-scoring chances, making it an utterly drab affair.

Eurosport journo was set the difficult task of reporting on the match and he didn't try to sugar-coat it at all. Since the quality of the football on show was so poor, he found choosing a Man of the Match particularly challenging. This accolade was given to Chris Gunter of Reading for an absolutely brilliant reason.
Chris Gunter (Reading): Given the terrible showing on the pitch, largely because of the pitch more than anything, Gunter deserves the award. He did not get off the subs’ bench, and as a result did not contribute to one of the worst televised games in memory.
