Apparently, Real Madrid have suggested Rafa Benitez should lay off the complex carbohydrates before kicking off his career at the club.
Benitez is now the new boss at the Bernabeu, and according to
Spanish daily AS, some Real Madrid directors are concerned about how fans will react to his physique.
The Spanish newspaper claims that some of the big wigs at the club have asked Benitez to go on a diet, to avoid the unforgiving taunts from fans.
According to the short piece, Benitez has been advised to slim down in order “to prevent any attack like those received during his time in England by rival supporters”.
This is of course a reference to the infamous "You're just a fat Spanish waiter" chants Benitez endured during his tenure at Liverpool, and the brief period he spent as interim manager of Chelsea.
