Stephanie Roche confirms she didn’t break up Cristiano Ronaldo’s relationship in awkward interview

She does actually play football, you know

The Irish Puskas award finalist was questioned about pretty much everything but football in an interview with the Sunday Independent's Life magazine today. One of the topics of conversation to come up was that photo (above) of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi appearing to check her out at the Puskas awards ceremony. She revealed she doesn't feel that the photograph overshadowed her achievement of being nominated for the coveted award.

I've seen a few people saying that the Ronaldo and Messi picture takes away from the fact that I did so well in my football. I think that's stupid. I think Irish people are happy to see an Irish person being looked up to by superstars.  I didn't even know he was looking at me until I saw the photographs.

For some reason Roche was then asked is she had an involvement in breaking up Cristiano Ronaldo's relationship with Irina Shayk. Roche showed class in her response to the awkward question.

I didn't. She wasn't at the awards. I got a lot of slagging on Twitter. I'm guessing they were broken up before hand.
