Transfers: Few clubs will be able to match Paul Pogba’s absolutely staggering wage demands

Leaving Juventus looks like it will be a very lucrative career move for Paul Pogba.

The French midfielder is seeking a pay packet of around €12m a year at his next club, according to one of the candidates for the Barcelona presidency. Pretty much every major European club are interested in the wonderkid including Barcelona, Real Madrid and his former team, Manchester United. However, Agusti Benedito, who is running to be the next president of Barca, admitted that any team looking to snap him up will have need to splash the cash.

“I have spoken to Pogba. First I contacted [Juventus president] Andrea Agnelli then spoke directly with the player. They have proposed an annual salary of €12m after tax and a transfer fee of €80m.”

Liverpool are set to give signing Nathaniel Clyne another go, according to the Liverpool Echo. The Reds had a £10m bid for the right back rejected by Southampton last month, but are readying a better offer for the 24-year-old as a replacement for Glen Johnson. The Saints have slapped a €15m asking price for Clyne, who has just one year left on his current contract. There's bad news for Arsenal and they're pursuit of Petr Cech. The Mirror are reporting that Paris Saint-Germain are trying to scupper the Gunners' plans of signing the shot-stopper by offering him a whopping £39million contract The Ligue 1 champions are reportedly willing to shell out £150k-a-week to the Chelsea keeper on a five-year deal. Chelsea would obviously prefer to let their keeper move abroad rather than to join they're city rivals. Finally, Barcelona appear to have a back-up plan in place if they miss out on Paul Pogba. The Catalans see PSG midfielder Marco Verratti as a viable alternative to the Frenchman, claim Mundo Deportivo. Barca's main midfield target is Pogba and they are confident of being able to sign the France international. However, if other clubs manage to ruin their plan, namely PSG, they are reportedly willing to turn their attention to the Italian workhorse.
