During an Q&A session with Soccer AM, the Man United legend admitted that despite playing against the likes of Zinedine Zidane and Diego Maradonna, that the toughest opponent he ever lined up against was a Liverpool striker.
For those of a certain age, you won't be too surprised to find out that it's Robbie Fowler. While Schmeichel seemed to relish playing against rivals like of Ian Rush and Ian Wright, Fowler always seemed to have his number.

Schmeichel was, of course, in goals in October 1995 when Fowler beat him all ends up with two of the most exquisite goals ever scored by a Liverpool player at Old Trafford.
It was a game that is more commonly remembered as the day a certain Frenchman returned to the Manchester United side following a lengthy ban for attacking a fan.
But Schmeichel clearly hasn't forgotten Fowler's influence.
