Sampdoria coach Sinisa Mihajlovic had to be held back by his own players as he went apoplectic on defender Vasco Regini for conceding a late free.
Regini gave up a free to city rivals Genoa in a juicy position, near the end of a frenetic 1-1 draw. Luckily for Sampdoria, and Regini, goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano clawed the free-kick effort out. As soon as the full-time whistle went, the Samp boss stormed the pitch and began wailing on his player.
He told Sky Sport Italia, 'The fact that it was a derby did not come into it. When a player has his back to goal, he mustn't commit fouls like this. I was sorry that we could have lost a very hard-fought derby which both sides wanted to win.
'We wasted huge chances... but I can't get angry with a player who misses a goal or a pass.'
