"I'm in Dublin now," Galvin told us, "and I've never had more people requesting tickets. "Dubs up to me, all week long... 'Any chance of a ticket?'."
The former captain of the green and golds revealed his response to the hopeful Dubliners:
"My stock answer is, 'The wife is from Mayo. They're haunting me, they're haunting me."Galvin was part of the only GAA team of the modern era to retain the Sam Maguire, in 2007. He feels this current Dublin side are more than capable of replicating that achievement but struck a warning chord about a revitalised Mayo.
"As good as Jack McCaffrey is and Rory O'Carroll is, maybe it is that new energy that will give them that new impetus and new drive. "It has gotten them to a final now. Whether they'll do it... I think they will do it but we'll see. Ultimately, it comes down to football. Having enough good footballers. "When you level out preparation and you level out tactics, that's what it comes down to. That's what we had back in the day."Encouraging words for Dublin fans. Just don't ask him for a ticket.
