St. Thomas' club man David Burke led his Galway troops out onto the stage.
"Is this the real Liam MacCarthy?," asked an excited Grogan. "That's the real Liam MacCarthy," replied the captain.Burke wasn't finished there. The hurlers had a season ticket for Galway games in 2018 for Grogan and his family. They had a signed kit, a team photograph, a signed hurley and sliotar, the team annual, and an invitation to come watch the team train in January. They weren't done there, they then offered him an opportunity to be the team-mascot for their first competitive outing of the new year against Antrim in the National Hurling League in January. https://twitter.com/RTEgaa/status/936747527956602880 Young Daniel was overwhelmed with excitement, but he did manage to ask them, how they were so bloody good? He'll be the envy of all his friends in school.
