The Yellow Bellies were obviously disgusted to lose to their neighbours and bitter rivals Carlow in the Leinster first round which sent them into the qualifiers.
But boy did they bounce back on Saturday at the Gaelic Grounds.
It may not have been comprehensive, or it may not have been the most visually pleasing performance, but what they may have lacked in class they made up for in heart and bottle with PJ Banville kicking the winning score in the dying embers of the game.
Banville is an experienced campaigner at this stage, a stalwart of Wexford football, but the Horeswood club man obviously still has the football brain as he kicked three vital scores in that water-tight second half.
Others to impress for the Model County included their roaming corner back Michael Furlong who lit the touch paper with two points in the first 25 minutes of the game.
The 'Wexicans' were excited from the get-go in Limerick. We even got some Gaeilge to digest after their wandering corner back Michael Furlong scored a rare point.

You could feel the pain oozing through the sunny south-east after Adrian Flynn's sitter went over the bar.

The nerves, the excitement, the man might need a defibrillator.

Hold off on that defibrillator. It's all over, take a breath and soak it all in.

Gripping stuff.
Someone buy that man a pint, he might need it.
