As such, it was a little shocking but not entirely unsurprising to hear that new Arsenal manager Unai Emery has brought in hilariously strict nutritional guidelines at the Emirates, which involves banning the drinking of fruit juice.
Yes, fruit juice. Delicious fruit juice: the elixir of life. The drink you grab from the fridge, take a slurp out of, and suddenly you're ready for the day.
Fruit juice (and particularly orange juice - not from concentrate) is one of the great juice joys in life. It can be as cold as icy water but as delicious as an orange, without the skin.
Unfortunately, it is also quite high in sugar and it would seem that it is because of this that the Spanish coach has prohibited his players from ingesting it.
The move resembles a similar one made by his predecessor Arsene Wenger, upon his arrival at the club in 1996.
Wenger famously banned alcohol and junk food at the club, which at the time had what was reportedly a notorious drinking culture.
