During Monday Night Football, Phillip Rivers threw a delightful touchdown pass to give his San Diego Chargers a 17-10 lead.
Then everybody lost their s**t.
In celebration of the touchdown, Rivers punched the air and made contact with something that quite a few people believed to be a little bird who had flitted down to the field to give a cheery hello to the players.

For those eagle-eyed viewers who took a breath, though, it was pretty obvious that it was the quarterback's glove that he had flicked into the air and punched.
Birdpuncher is a hell of a nickname to get tagged with and it's clear that Rivers doesn't deserve it. We're not saying that he's never punched a bird but we are saying that he didn't punch a bird
this time.
