The word in Tipperary is that Aishling Moloney would not only make the lads team but that she'd be one of their best players. She lines out for her college DCU in the shield competition. From Tipp's treasure to the deadly Cork forward Eimear Scally to loads more, ladies football has never been in a healthier state and many of its most gifted stars will be battling it out in the college's finals.
From Abbotstown to Cheltenham it's the same story.
With Nina Carberry and Katie Walsh hanging up their whips at the end of last year, many worried that the future of women's horse riding in Ireland would suffer. Their loss was for the worse all right but the females around them in the weigh room have not only kept it going but they've pushed it on even more.
Rachael Blackmore is second in the Irish leading jockey standings only a few winners behind Paul Townend while Lisa O'Neill and Katie O'Farrell are getting better by the day.

The talented trio will have plenty of rides between them in Pretsbury Park next week in the pinnacle of the horse racing calendar and they'll have a huge part to play in the festivities.
