Infographic: Which sports make their players cover the most ground in a regular season?

We can't get enough of the modern trend for ever more and deeper stats and analytics. Right now, in MIT, the Sloan Conference is taking place, the Mecca of sports analytics and the work being showcased there is already, and will increasingly, change the way sport is managed, viewed and played. Even 10 years ago, stats like the one below simply didn't exist but now that they do, thanks to the work of smart folks like Ray Boyne, we can make some interesting comparisons between some of our favourites sports.

Of course, there are lots of other factors that make up how 'hard' or demanding a sport is to play, and distance covered my not even be the most significant, but these numbers help build a picture of the differences, and skill sets, required for top sports people.
