A spokesperson for the OCI said: "The Olympic Council of Ireland can confirm that Pat Hickey has been discharged from hospital and has been accompanied to a police station to complete a deposition."
Footage of the arrest of Hickey, 71, was released by ESPN Brazil on Wednesday and he has since temporarily stood down from his role as president of the Olympic Council of Ireland, as well as his positions as International Olympic Committee member and president of the European Olympic Committee.
