Ireland secured their first medals of the Rio Olympics on Friday afternoon following a stunning performance from Paul and Gary O'Donovan.
The Cork rowers took silver in the men’s lightweight double sculls final, finishing second after a strong finish to win Ireland's first ever Olympic medal in rowing.
The O'Donovan brothers had already secured cult status thanks to their
brilliant interviews, but will now arrive back home heroes.
