It’s been a while. For so long Cork were the strongest dual county in the country. Since the turn of the decade, success has been few and far between but they’re on the up. It’s a big county and one filled with many GAA clubs but can you name every GAA club in Cork? Cork has […]

Rewind to 2013. That was the highlight for Clare of this decade but there is hope that they are now back on the up after a couple of disappointing years. The GAA is huge in Clare, but can you name every GAA club in Clare?

An up and down year. Kildare are on the up, they were promoted to Division One and didn’t disgrace themselves in the championship, losing out in Croker in a thrilling battle with Armagh. Will you be able to name all the clubs in Kildare though? Probably not.

They’re on the up. Limerick are a young hurling county, one in transition but don’t write them off. Not just yet. Their club scene is strong but can you name all of the clubs playing in the county?

If we’re being honest with ourselves, this quiz should be split in two. Like, come on… 91 clubs. Dublin has a lot of clubs. TOO MANY! (Not as many as Cork) but can you name them all? Probably not but see how you do. We’ll even give you 14 minutes.

The Cats will be back. It wasn’t a great 2017 for Kilkenny but they’ll be back, Brian Cody won’t let them slump. Maybe they’re in a crisis but probably not. Hurling is still strong in every parish but can you name all the clubs in Kilkenny? Give it a go below.

Hon the Royals!! Hopefully Meath are on the rise, Andy McEntee is a great manager. But 2017 was disappointing, possibly just a stepping stone. Their club scene is okay though. There are 59 clubs in Meath, but can you name them all?

The days of Ulster championships and national leagues are gone for Derry. They’re a long way away from winning an All-Ireland at inter-county level but the club scene is always strong and good aul Slaughtneil are doing jobs across all codes at club level. But can you name every club in Derry? Football AND hurling.

What a year. 2017 brought the glory that Galway had sought after for so long and worked so hard for. HUP THE TRIBESMEN. They’re strong in club and they’re strong in county but can you name all their clubs?

What a year it has been

Thy Kingdom come. They didn’t quite lift Sam this year but between Dr.Crokes and the Kerry Minors, it wasn’t all bad for the county that lives and breathes football. But the three-in-a-row from Dublin would have hurt. Anywayssss, can you name all the clubs in Kerry?

Poor Mayo. That’s all you can say about them at this point. Just…poor Mayo. Bless. Anyways, they’re always fairly solid in the club scene and there is serious strength and depth but can you name ALL the clubs in Mayo?

“Forty metres out. Rock kicking up into the air… And over the bar!” Often times when you’re so enthralled in a moment you don’t realise how truly great it is or how it is going to be immortalised. All of your emotions are flying everywhere and you just get caught up in it all and […]

Davy Fitz has them on the up. Good aul Wexford gave us memories a plenty in 2017. There was the win against Wexford and the fantastic league campaign. Their county champions, St.Martin’s, is a club filled with beautiful stories. Now people are starting to take notice. Can you name all the clubs in the county?

They’ll be back. It was a bit of a disaster for Tipperary in 2017. They didn’t win the league or Munster or the All-Ireland. There is hope that they’ll be back better and stronger in both codes after such a successful 2016. But are you able to name all the clubs in the Premier County.

“What improvements do you want to make for 2018, Aidan?” “An All-Ireland medal would be nice. That’d be a good improvement.” It’s not one of those warm laughs, he has. Infectious. It’s clear that September 18 still haunts Aidan O’Shea, the year before too and every other year that Mayo have come close. He’s desperate […]

They’re in every county, they’re in every parish. No, not GAA clubs. Well, yes to GAA clubs but GAA WhatsApp groups. They’re rampant around the country, it’s just a handy way for all the lads or ladies to keep in touch. Management can organise training and matches. Players can organise lifts and nights out. But […]

For such a GAA stronghold, Galway don’t win as much as they should. Their last All-Ireland football title was in 2001 and before 2016 the last time Liam MacCarthy was out west was way back in 1988. In that time Galway reached six All-Ireland finals and played in seven inclusive of their drawn match and […]

“The nation holds its breath.” It’s one of those tournaments that captured the nation. The fact that the Irish public had to withstand nearly 15 minutes of nerve jingling penalties. Sheedy scored, Houghton scored, Townsend and Cascarino did too but it was David O’Leary who it all went down to. Next thing you know Ireland […]

“Galway looking for another one. It’s Canning once again firing it from near the sideline. It’s a miracle shot. It’s gone over the bar! Galway are in front!” Ger Canning calling the final point of Galway’s epic with Tipperary will forever be immortalized. It was the moment of the summer hands down. Galway reached another […]

There was only one team that beat Dublin during the summer. Carlow couldn’t do it, neither either could Westmeath or Kildare. Monaghan and Tyrone didn’t get close. Mayo nearly did but, ultimately, they all came and could not conquer. Only one team was able to beat Dublin and that was Dublin. The ‘B’ team in […]

The GAA season never really ends, does it? The league is starting earlier than ever this year so that means so too is pre-season. It’s a funny one, this whole GAA season because pre-season isn’t necessarily pre-season. The players want to be at their peak fitness when it comes to the championship so the tough […]

It’s time to think. If someone asked who Dublin’s fittest player was, who’s the first name that comes to mind? Is it the extremely athletic James McCarthy? Probably the first to come to mind but you’d be wrong. Is it personal trainer and gym-owner Philly McMahon? Nope. How about the machine that is Diarmuid Connolly? […]

Those Ballyragget boys love their parish. It was a great day for the club in Ballyragget after they captured the Leinster Intermediate Hurling Championship on Saturday. Despite being heavy favourites, the Kilkenny outfit struggled against 16/1 outsiders Glenealy in Nowlan Park but got over the job in the end. The Wicklow outfit were looking to […]

What was that quote in Peter Pan about goodbyes? “Never say goodbye because saying goodbye means going away and going away means forgetting.” Everyone around Mayo are praying that Sunday isn’t the last that they’ve seen of Cora Staunton. Every GAA fan is hoping that they’ll see her grace a local pitch again. She’ll be […]

It was a great weekend for Whitehall Colmcille in Dublin. The club won its first under-21 title in three years after beating St. Jude’s by nine points in the B final. It was an impressive performance by the north Dublin side as they raced to a seven-point lead at halftime and two goals in the […]

Dare to dream. Okay, in football we may never see the likes of Leicester again. They unearthed N’Golo Kante and converted him into one of the best holding midfielders on the planet, Jamie Vardy had that ridiculous run of goals and Riyad Mahrez, well, he won Player of the Year. But Burnley aren’t giving it […]
