After a disappointing season, new manager Ernesto Valverde is keen to improve his side with Coutinho top of the list.
According to the Daily Star, Liverpool have already rebuffed a £72m bid for the playmaker.
The club are ready to offer £80m to bring Coutinho to the Nou Camp, a deal that would make him the most expensive player in Barcelona history.
The record is currently held by Neymar who moved to the club for a fee in the region on £75m back in 2013.
If the move is to materialise at that fee it would make the 25-year-old the third most expensive player in history after Paul Pogba and Gareth Bale and tied with Cristiano Ronaldo.Explore more on these topics:
