Manchester United have identified their top target to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic

The Antoine Griezmann saga is over but Manchester United still need a forward.

A few names have been thrown about, with Romelu Lukaku and Andrea Belotti two of the most sought after forwards in Europe. But, according to The Telegraph, the side have decided on Alvaro Morata as their top target this summer. Morata is an attractive option for a number of reasons and the primary one is that he is significantly cheaper than their other two top targets. Everton are apparently looking for £100m for Lukaku and Torino are insistent that a suitor must meet the £87m release clause of Belotti. According to the newspaper, Morata is valued at £50m and Jose Mourinho has made it his mission to improve his attack after a frustrating season in front of goal. And with Zlatan Ibrahimovic out injured and 35 years of age, Manchester United will be looking for a long-term centre forward to replace him. It is no secret that Real Madrid have been long-term admirers of Manchester United's David de Gea but any negotiations for Morata will not involve a possible transfer for the goalkeeper. Another option could be Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon. It has been widely reported that Arsenal are looking to bring in the French international to London but Manchester United could scupper their plans if they fail in their bid for Morata. Lacazette scored 28 goals in Ligue 1 last season as Lyon finished fourth.
